Home Automation
Home Automation routines are customized for each user's specific requirements. The following configuration is an installation configured for a residence in the Dallas, Texas area.
General Description:
The installation covering 4,000 square feet includes 9 video monitors, 2 computer monitors which can double as TV monitors, 29 individual built-in speakers, a whole-house infrared network, category 5 cabling throughout distributing telephone, computer, security and more. In total, 9 distinct networks are independently distributed in a star-type configuration which can share devices and all such devices wherever located can be controlled by voice, infrared remote, RF remote, or computer from each and every room in the house.
With each TV monitor capable of viewing the same output as the homes computer control via open-air voice recognition input from any room, total hands-free Internet surfing is available "on the fly" to each family member as they move from room to room throughout the house.
Also, with intelligent sensors at the perimeter of the home, the full-time security cameras are automatically activated and displayed without prompting on each of the eleven video sources distributed through the house without the visitor being aware that they are being watched.
Considering the processing power provided by the dedicated server, any number of complicated schedules, macros, conditional events and responses can be handled continuously or even simultaneously.
With full surround sound plus video available in three large rooms (and with stereo in the rest), family members can either watch the same or different programs at any given time. The added flexibility of plug-in connections for local input in several rooms allows other family members to listen to their own favorite sources such as personal CD players or mini disc players through the system speakers located in that room.
